The Cactus mouse (Peromyscus eremicus) exhibits a range of coloration from black to blonde and can reach up to 3 inches in length. They possess hairless tails and hind feet, with minimal hair on their ears. Nests are created by these mice in crevices and subterranean burrows. Their diet is varied, consisting of nuts, seeds, insects, and plants.

Silver Garden Spiders are easy to distinguish by their very long, half black half silver legs, and lumpy orange, black, and yellow striped abdomens. They can grow to be as large as 1.3 inches. As their name suggests, they live outdoors and string zig-zag patterned webs to trap their prey. These spiders are carnivorous and will eat any insect trapped within their web. Deter them from your home with strong smelling plants like lavender and remove webs and egg sacs regularly.

European Paper Wasps bear a strong resemblance to Yellowjackets with a slim black and yellow body growing up to 1 inch in length. They build paper-like nests in sheltered cavities such as satellite dishes, attics, vents, or eaves. Their diet consists of hornworms, caterpillars, nectar, and other sugary substances. Clean up fallen fruit from fruit trees, monitor pet food containers for outdoor pets, and regularly clean and monitor potential nest sites to keep them away.

Brown Dog Ticks are a warm reddish-brown color when male and more of a steel color when female. Prior to feeding they are about 1/8th of an inch in size. After latching onto a host and sucking blood, they expand up to 1/2 of an inch in length. Unlike most ticks, they thrive indoors. This particular species of hard tick latches onto dogs and people to gain entrance into your Gold Canyon, AZ home and then will remain indoors for the remainder of its life.
